Sarah’s focus is on creating processes that work for both commissioning organisations and the people taking part. She places emphasis on the quality of the engagement itself and, equally importantly, its impact.
Sarah joined Shared Future as an associate in 2026 after working with us on the Nest Pensions Members Assembly. She has over 10 years’ experience designing and facilitating projects and programmes that enable members of the public to shape the decisions that affect their lives.
Sarah has led engagement work on a wide range of issues for multiple different organisations including Parliaments, national government departments, local government, public services, private companies and third sector organisations. Her work covers topics including, among others, climate change, coastal transition, national security, social care, youth mental health and emotional wellbeing, policing, building safety and in-work poverty.
Specialisms and interests
Climate mitigation, climate adaptation, coastal transition, national security, social issues including social care, deliberative and mixed method engagement, immersive and experiential learning techniques.
Sarah has run high-profile national citizens’ assemblies, including Climate Assembly UK for six select committees of the House of Commons, as well as multiple local assemblies and citizens’ panels. She has co-led long-term national, local and hyper local engagement programmes.
Sarah formerly held a range of positions at public participation charity Involve, including Director of Capacity Building and Standards, and Director of Climate Programmes. She maintains her link with Involve as a Senior Associate.
