Rowan Harris
Engagement Lead
Rowan is our Engagement Lead, responsible for organising and facilitating citizens’ assemblies, and exploring ways to engage our former participants in pushing for change. Rowan joined Shared Future in May 2023 as Project Officer.
Rowan has an M.Litt. in Middle East, Caucasus, and Central Asia Security Studies, which he obtained at the University of St. Andrews. His dissertation focused on transboundary water security, and he has since worked on international climate issues with UNEP and the Carbon Trust. He is excited by the potential for citizen’s assemblies to create peace within and beyond borders, empower those who have given up on existing political processes, and help solve complex issues.
Prior to joining Shared Future as a Project Officer, he gained experience in sustainability consulting, policy analysis, and communications.
Outside of work, he enjoys multi-day hikes, running, dancing, and climbing.
Rowans specialisms include: Climate assemblies, energy transitions, just transitions, climate justice, international development, peace and security.
