Paul Kahawatte
associate
Paul joined Shared Future as an Associate in July 2025, after working with us on some of our recent projects.
He supports communities, groups and organisations to work through differences, find common ground, and move forward together in ways that work for everyone. His work is focused on collaborative decision-making, conflict transformation, and helping people navigate challenges in open and constructive ways.
With many years of experience in mediation and facilitation, Paul has worked with communities and projects committed to positive social and environmental change, as well as in participatory democracy. He is passionate about the potential that participatory democracy can have to bring people together to address the challenges that matter to them, in collaborative ways. Paul works to create supportive spaces where people can listen to one another, understand differing perspectives and what’s really important to each other, and reach agreed ways forward that everyone feels good about.
His approach facilitation is rooted in the belief and experience that it’s possible to find win-win ways forward, even in complex or highly challenging situations.
Whether it’s in community settings, participatory democracy projects, or groups, Paul brings care and dedication to supporting people in building stronger relationships and working things out together.
