The Cheshire and Merseyside Alcohol Inquiry
35 residents from Cheshire and Merseyside were recruited in 2020 to take part in the Cheshire and Merseyside Alcohol Inquiry.
The residents were recruited through the delivery of 6,000 letters across the region. The profile of those recruited reflected the diversity of the local population and can be seen as a mini version of Cheshire and Merseyside.
The group met for 24 hours of deliberation over the course of four Saturdays to answer the question:
“what can we all do to make it easier for people to have a healthier relationship with alcohol?“
The Inquiry members worked hard to listen to each other and to share experiences and opinions. Challenging each other and learning from each other. The report was finalised in Spring 2022.
