Preston People’s Climate Jury
In early 2024, Shared Future CIC was commissioned by Preston City Council to design and facilitate a two-month Climate Jury. Twenty-seven residents from the region were recruited for the process. They came together over 8 sessions to answer the question:
‘‘How can we in Preston work together to address the opportunities and challenges of climate change in a way that is fair to everyone?”
Over 30 hours, the jury heard from more than 20 commentators, including academics, business owners, and civil servants. They then produced recommendations on three topics: i) Housing; ii) Transport; and iii) Food.
Further information on the sessions as well as recordings of the commentator presentations can be found on Preston City Council’s People’s Climate Jury webpage.
