2025 Nature in Neighborhoods community choice grants, USA
Oregan Metro invites public to share their ideas for Nature in Neighborhoods grants and vote on proposed projects
The Nature in Neighborhoods Community Choice Grants program puts community members in the lead. The community choice model invites everyone in the community to submit ideas. And instead of Metro staff and advisory committees deciding which grants will get funding, awards will be chosen through a vote that’s open to the whole community, age 11 and older.
Metro will award between $2 million and $3 million total to projects with budgets between $10,000 and $250,000 for parks and nature projects that connect people to nature close to home, improve fish and wildlife habitat, and make the region better able to handle flooding, hot summers and wildfires. Previous rounds of Community Choices received an International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) USA award in the Respect for Diversity, Inclusion and Culture Category.
