Dr Matt MacDonald is an experienced social enterprise and creative industries academic, consultant and trainer. He currently works as a Senior Lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University in the Faculty of Business and Law and also with Grizedale Arts, the Coniston Institute and the Ruskin Museum in the Lake District National Park on an organisational/community collaboration project exploring new models of rural social innovation. He is also Social Entrepreneur-in-Residence for the University of Lancaster Management School. He has previously worked for Leeds University Business School and at the Business and Community Enterprise Unit at the University of Cumbria.
He has experience as a Chief Executive, Change Manager and Director of UK charities, social enterprises and arts organisations and is a Fellow of the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA). In his free time he is actively involved in the creative industries, such as the Melodrome Mobile Theatre.
