As well as my role within Shared Future I work as an independent consultant designing and delivering programmes to develop leadership capabilities and empower teams. Every organisation needs to be led and there are as many different styles of leadership as there are leaders.
I have worked with dozens of managers and directors of third sector organisations and SMEs. I spent five years at Lancaster University Management School developing and delivering leadership programmes and facilitating action learning sets. Action learning has been prominent in my work for a number of years and I have a great deal of experience in facilitating action learning sets and in training other managers to facilitate their own sets.
I've no idea how I haven't come across Action Learning until now. Blimey, what a great technique to share, learn and develop. Every single member of the group benefitted without exception. The key to it was a good facilitator, and Laurie was exceedingly skilled at it. Since leaving Lancaster University Management School, I have worked with numerous HEIs and private companies to develop their leaders and to embed reflective practice into their organisations. Developing people and enterprises along a sustainable path is something that really excites me, and I take great pleasure in working with individuals and teams to create new opportunities. Recognising the value of existing knowledge within people and organisations is key to their development and so peer-to-peer learning and the sharing of knowledge and learning underpins much of what I do.
