I have been a trainer and fundraiser for over 20 years. My work has encompassed project development, fundraising, training social entrepreneurs on business modelling, creativity and innovation. I run CrowdFundUK.
I have raised over £1 million from trusts, government and EU sources.
I work with third sector organisations to develop a sustainable funding strategy including grants, social investment and community fundraising. I can help deliver effective funding bids.
Since February 2012 I have been running workshops on crowdfunding for the charitable and voluntary sector, start-ups and creative business. The workshops have had excellent evaluations by both participants and partners, who find them both inspiring and practical. These workshops and presentations are being run across England. Partners include local CVS, social enterprise support organisations, Liverpool Vision, UK Fundraising, Fit 4 Funding, the Institute of Fundraising NW, The British Interactive Group (science communication), the British Council and Price Waterhouse Coopers.
In addition to the workshops I support organisations and start-ups to plan and run campaigns. This includes team in-house sessions (a tailored version of the workshop), developing an effective pitch and engaging their social networks in communicating the campaign. I also advise on crowdfunding as part of a mixed fundraising strategy, including trusts, major donor, corporate and community fundraising, plus social investment.
The emphasis in all my training and support that crowdfunding is a tool not only to raise funds but also build community or a support base.
